Sorin and Kairi share a kiss. This picture depicts a scene from Guardian Soul, an ongoing personal project of mine. I rarely ever attempt to paint characters realistically but this felt right.
Refference was used to pose the characters. That's also me finished up for the year, have a good christmas everyone
Sorry about the title, it's probably very overused but there really is nothing else I'd rather call it.
--:: NOTES ::--
- This picture was updated on 7/4/09 - I recently went back to this picture to tighten it up and work over anything I felt didn't quite work the first time round. I'm also going to submit it to Exotique 5 and try and win a place in the book.
Thank you for all the faves and comments everyone, this has been the most viewed and favourited picture in my gallery. Hopefully I've done it more justice now and it's an improvement over the original.
- Kairi is not the finalised name for the female, I'm more than aware of the similarities with Kingdom Hearts being a fan of the series myself. I simply like the name. Please do not send me any more notes about this! Thanks -
This is really great, I love the passion and emotion that radiates from it and the textures on the hair and water are stunning! I think again you've gone a little overboard with photoshopped effects so it looks a little cluttered, and the raindrops on Kairi's arm look a bit clumsily done. Also, her elbow is a bit too far down her arm so it makes the forearm look too long and the lower arm look to short. Other than that, though, this turned out really well - I love the colours you've chosen and the expressions are fantastic.
lol oh dear, I do have a habit of overdoing the purdy photoshop effects don't I. Duely noted about the rain drops on Kairi's arm too, I think you're right. I've also spotted a odd yellow streak in Sorin's hair that shouldn't be there. I think may have got a bit fluffed up when I flattened the image ; ; looks like I've gone and nuged a layer in the wrong direction or something.
The arms...well they gave me alot of trouble, but I think it's more the shading that's throwing it off than the length. Should move that elbow too. Think I'll re submit an update when I get the chance XD
Absolutely breathtaking. The dripping water effect is fantastic and the way you shaded the hair looks awesome. Its nice to see some original art on dA.
You have a large talent and a splendid gallery. You definitely earned a watch from me. c:
